Roof Cleaning Calen Reveals the Colour Under the Grime

We recently completed a roof clean in Calen, where a dark layer of build-up had changed the look of this corrugated metal roof. Our team at We Wash Houses Mackay removed it, revealing the much lighter finish underneath.

The clearest photo was taken partway through the job. Dark roofing sits beside a freshly cleaned section, with a sharp line showing the difference as we worked across the sheets.

Before cleaning, large sections had a dark, uneven appearance. The marks followed the corrugations and made the roof look much duller than the finished surface. With several adjoining roof sections, the build-up was visible across more than one part of the property.

We used our Whirlaway surface cleaner across sections of this metal roof. In the progress photo below, you can see the round cleaning head beside the boundary between the dirty and cleaned areas.

The cleaning line moved across the roof as we worked through the build-up. On the cleaned side, the pale finish was visible again, making it easy to see how much grime had been sitting on the surface.

The finished photos show light metal roofing across the broad slopes and adjoining sections. The heavy dark layer visible earlier had been removed, giving the roof a cleaner and more consistent appearance.

The roof forms a large part of this home’s exterior. Lifting the dark build-up made a noticeable difference across the roof, particularly on the broad sections that had been heavily discoloured.
