At first glance, you could mistake this for a dark-coloured roof. The progress photos tell a different story: as we cleaned across the sheets, a light cream finish appeared beneath the build-up.
That contrast made our latest corrugated roof cleaning Walkerston job worth sharing. We Wash Houses Mackay cleaned this local home’s metal roof, and the change is easy to see across the broad slopes and adjoining roof sections.

The build-up was hiding the roof’s lighter colour
The earlier photos show large areas of dark staining, with lighter speckled patches scattered across the sheets. Several adjoining sections had the same dull, uneven appearance.
Because a roof covers such a large part of a home, that build-up can dominate the way the property looks. Here, the difference became obvious once the first sections were cleaned. The pale roofing beside the darker areas showed just how much of the colour change was sitting on the surface.
Our earlier Walkerston roof cleaning article shares another local project and more information about arranging a roof clean in the area.
Following the clean across the corrugations
One of the clearest photos was taken partway through the work. You can see our surface cleaner on a freshly cleaned section, with dark build-up still covering the neighbouring area. The ridge and rows of corrugations make the contrast particularly easy to follow.
As the clean progressed, the light-coloured finish became visible across more of the roof. The finished photos show the result from several angles, including the adjoining sections around the satellite dish.
We choose the cleaning approach to suit the roof and its condition. A metal roof’s existing coating and surface wear matter when deciding how to clean it and what result to expect.
A brighter finish across the roof
Compare the views around the satellite dish before and after cleaning. The heavy dark layer that covered the sheets has been removed, leaving a much lighter and more consistent appearance across the connected roof sections.
The roof’s shape has not changed, but its appearance has. The light finish now stands out clearly, and the corrugated sheets look much fresher.

What could cleaning change on your roof?
A roof that looks dark from the ground may have removable build-up over a lighter finish, as this job demonstrates. The starting point is understanding the roof material, the condition of its coating and what is causing the marks.
Cleaning can remove surface contamination, but existing fading, worn paint or permanent staining may remain. We can discuss the likely result for your property when preparing your quote.

Can my roof come up this clean?
It depends on the build-up and the condition of the roof underneath. These photos show the result from this property; we assess each roof individually before discussing the expected finish.
How much will it cost?
Roof size, pitch, access and the amount of cleaning required all affect the quote. Send us your Walkerston address and a few photos taken safely from the ground to help us understand the job.
Can I ask for other cleaning at the same time?
Yes. Mention house washing, driveway cleaning, patio cleaning or solar panels when you enquire so we can discuss the full scope with you.
